Business Model

LipoNova AG develops novel therapies through innovative drug development from pre-clinical through to the end of Phase III although we may license promising drug candidates out sooner if the indication requires a global marketing partner.

For global commercialisation of Reniale®, we are well positioned to make successful direct drug sales to key pharmaceutical markets, and can also select pharmaceutical partners when this speeds up company development and creates value.

Additional candidate compounds for development may be generated from in-licensing and/or partnering. LipoNova AG seeks to create value in the following ways:

  • Taking on projects from biotech or research start-ups lacking drug development skills or financial resources
  • Releasing the value of projects in-licensed from big pharma, which, due to technical and/or strategic reasons are not fully resourced.
  • After establishing proof-of-concept in phase II, we may partner with big pharma for phase III development and commercialisation.

Our business model is flexible - we consider opportunities for in-licensing at any development stage. and will consider co-development at phase III. Our revenue stream includes up-front fees, milestone payments, and royalties and/or other revenues from partnered products.
